Privacy Policy

Your name and your email.
That is what a signup collects, plus your LinkedIn profile URL if you want to add it.
We don't sell your information.
It is handled only by the service providers used to run the site.
Leave whenever you like.
Use the unsubscribe page and you're removed immediately. No hoops, no waiting period.
What we collect
When you sign up on our website, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your LinkedIn profile URL (optional)
If you reach out through the contact form, we also collect your name, your email address, the note you send, and which page of this site you sent it from.
If you answer a form we send you, we collect the answers you give. They are kept in a private Google Sheet, a private database attached to this website, or both, and used only for the purpose that form states, such as preparing a session or following up with you.
If you nominate someone for What We Built Wednesdays, we collect the nomination details, your name and email address, any source link you include, and whether you can make an introduction.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Send you workshop dates, resources, and occasional updates (roughly once a month)
- Let you know about new workshops and events
- Review and prepare What We Built Wednesdays nominations, and follow up about a nomination when needed
We don't sell or trade your information. It is handled only by the service providers described below, as needed to run the site.
Where it's stored
Your signup information is stored in a private Notion database that only Sarah Madden can open. When you send a message through the contact form, a copy is also written to a private database attached to this website, and a notification goes to a private Slack channel that only she reads, so a message does not sit unanswered. Each of those holds your name, your email address, your note, and which page of this site you sent it from. Nothing else is collected or passed on.
What We Built Wednesdays nominations are stored in the private Always Allow Posting Calendar in Notion. To limit automated or repeated form submissions across the site, the website database also stores a keyed pseudonymous token derived from the request's IP address. The limiter does not store the raw IP address, and expired tokens are routinely pruned.
The website runs on Vercel, which is the company that hosts it. Email communications are sent directly by Sarah, with no third-party email marketing platform involved.
Unsubscribe
Want off the list? Use the unsubscribe page and you're removed immediately. No hoops, no waiting period.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site: which pages are visited, how long people stay, and where traffic comes from. This helps us improve the workshop experience. Google Analytics uses cookies. No personal information (name, email) is sent to Google Analytics. You can opt out using a browser extension.
The What We Built Wednesdays page embeds posts from LinkedIn. Loading those posts connects your browser to LinkedIn, which may process information under its own privacy policy.
The nomination form uses Vercel BotID to distinguish normal browser submissions from automated abuse. Vercel processes technical request and browser signals for that security check.
Workshop disclaimer
Workshop content reflects my personal experience and perspective on building with AI tools. You're responsible for your own decisions about how you use these tools in your work. I'm sharing what's worked for me, not providing professional, legal, or technical advice.
